In the fall of 2008, PHR had the privilege of leading human rights advocacy training for a large group of medical students at Herare's University of Zimbabwe medical college.

By December, in an emergency mission urgently requested by those same students, PHR found that a causal chain ran from President Mugabe’s economic policies to Zimbabwe’s economic collapse, food insecurity and malnutrition, and outbreaks of infectious disease, including cholera. Our report, Health in Ruins, documents PHR's findings.

Zimbabwe suspends NGOs as possible election looms (February 15, 2012)

Zimbabwe has suspended 29 non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in one of its provinces, state media reported on Wednesday, raising worries of a crackdown similar to one that preceded elections in 2008.
