20 Years, 20 Honorees
On PHR’s 20th anniversary, we are proud to honor 20 outstanding health professionals who have—often at great personal risk—investigated and documented the health consequences of human rights violations and spoken out with authority to end them. These honorees have made personal and professional sacrifices to advance health, dignity and justice on issues ranging from banning landmines to stopping torture; from reducing maternal mortality to stemming the spread of HIV/AIDS; from mitigating racial and ethnic disparities in health care to assisting colleagues at risk around the world. Each of our honorees has made our organization stronger and more effective.
We salute them, and thank them for their enormous contributions to PHR and to the health and human rights of all.
